About Us

South Whitwell Baptist Church is located in Whitwell, TN, a rural community in the beautiful Sequatchie Valley.  We are approximately 25 miles northwest of Chattanooga.

 

Our members live up and down the Valley - Signal Mtn., Dunlap, Whitwell, Powell's Crossroads, Suck Creek Mtn., Whitwell Mtn., Kimball, and Jasper.  We would love for you to join us in worship.  Please see our Services Page for details.

We are a body of Believers who meet to worship our amazing God, learn more about Him, sing His praises, and fellowship with each other.  We are committed to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our community and to our world.  We endeavor to fulfill the great commands to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Our church cooperates with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Tennessee Baptist Convention, and the Sequatchie Valley Baptist Association.  We are Elder led, but congregational in our voting.  Doctrinely we hold to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
